Summary of Job Functions:

The position of Fabricator/Welder is open to candidates who are able to work independently to engineering drawings, in a multitude of disciplines, such as:

  • Bending, forming, fabrication of sheet & structural steel
  • Ability to tack jobs together
  • Grinding
  • MIG/TIG Welding
  • Manufacture of framework

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development Work i.e. Square to Rounds & Hopper Fabrication
  • Use of Guillotine
  • Use of Brake Press
  • Use of Pillar Drill
  • Manufacture of Bespoke Framework

Organisational Relationships:

Reports directly to the Assistant Production Manager

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Ability to manufacture from engineering drawings
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Sheet metal work
  • Fabrication of developments
  • Experience with fitting & assembly of complete machines
  • Work as a member of a team

Product Manager - Metal Detection

Summary of Job Functions:
Responsible for the development and growth of sales and ongoing support of Eriez customers for Eriez range of metal detection equipment. To manage the pipeline of opportunities from lead generation right through to final negotiation and order closing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Specify and quote suitable metal detection solutions for customers across the broad range of industries which
  • Eriez serve.
  • Keep record of all communication with customers on our CRM system.
  • Contact existing customers, new customers, key account customers, agents & affiliates regarding all metal
  • detection sales and technical enquiries to help support continued sales growth and development.
  • Take a proactive approach to contacting potential customers throughout the UK and Europe and undertake site
  • visits/surveys, where required.
  • Frequent strategic sales travel (approx. 40%) to visit existing and new customers alike.
  • Support other members of the sales and management team with regards to metal detection equipment.
  • Monitor and report sales activity of metal detection equipment to senior management on a weekly basis.
  • Represent Eriez at exhibitions, throughout the UK and Europe.
  • Conduct training of team members, customers, agents and affiliates.

Organisational Relationships:
Reports directly to the Sales Manager

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Degree level qualified but not essential, dependent upon experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a technical sales role.
  • Experience within the packaging or process equipment sector preferred, other candidates will be considered based on their individual merits.
  • Ability to travel independently as frequent travel required to further develop the metal detection product sales.


Summary of Job Functions:
Responsible for machining of product to high tolerances, Shafts/Pulleys etc, mainly Lathe work with some milling of keyways etc. The machine operator is responsible for translating drawings and the quality of his/her work. Working safely at all times, ensuring that the maintenance of the equipment is kept to a high standard.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate the relevant machine efficiently unsupervised
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ensure all aspects of the product specification are followed and run correctly
  • Meet daily production work schedules to ensure customer service fulfilled
  • Complete all safety checks prior to operation the machine and record appropriately
  • Ensure quality checks are carried out at appropriate intervals and report any issues or concerns
  • Report any unsafe conditions or problems when running the machine immediately
  • General housekeeping of work area during shift
  • Must wear PPE and adhere to all safety rules
  • Manual handling tasks involved in the manufacturing process

Organisational Relationships

  • Reports directly to Senior charge hand.

Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Time served engineer/Toolmaker preferable
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge and good understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • A good understanding and knowledge of quality standards and practices
  • Familiar with manual lifting techniques
  • A passion/enthusiasm for machine operation
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Reliable and committed with good time keeping skills
  • Highly motivated and hard working
